Ibn Khaldum was born in Tunisia into a distinguished family of jurists. It is widely believed that he was the greatest thinker and scientist of the 12th Century. He is an historiographer, sociologist and economist. He was regarded as the father of Economics because he planted the germinating seeds of classical economics upon which Adam Smith built his work. He believed that asabiyah or tribalism is the offshoot of social group. His most significant book which has over 20,000 pages was titled Al-Muqaddimah and it was a discourse on universal history. He introduced innovative theories relating to education, economic, taxation, sociology, political science and philosophy of history. The twilight of his life corresponded her last years of classical Muslim scholarship and loss of the honourable positions of Muslims lost in the fierce battle of knowledge. Mariam Al-Astrolabiya was born in Aleppo, Syria in __________. She worked in the mid-tenth Century. She designed and made astrolables. Astrolables are used to know the position of the sun, moon and planets they are used to find (locate) the qibla, Solat time and determine the beginning of Ramadan and Eid. She made lots of creative and innovative designs. She also helped to improve navigation designs.
